Terms of service

Draft, pending legal review. This describes how the software actually handles data, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer and still contains placeholders for company details. Do not rely on it as a published policy yet.

These terms govern use of MyRentManager by managing companies, landlords and housing societies. By opening a workspace you accept them.

What we provide, and what we do not

We provide software for managing rented property: billing, collection, utilities, maintenance, records and a public listing surface.

We are not a party to your tenancies. The agreement between you and your residents is yours. We do not own, manage, inspect or take responsibility for any building listed on this platform, we do not verify the accuracy of listings, and we are not an agent or broker in any transaction between you and a resident.

A resident with a complaint about a property should raise it with the managing company responsible for it.

Your account

  • You are responsible for what happens under your accounts, including actions by staff you invite.
  • Give every person their own login. Shared logins make the audit trail meaningless, which is the one record that answers who moved money.
  • Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.
  • You must have the right to hold the resident and owner data you enter, and to publish anything you list publicly.

Fees

Plans are billed annually in advance, in Indian rupees, and GST is charged in addition to the listed price. Prices shown on the pricing page are the current ones.

We do not take a percentage of the rent you collect. Payment gateway charges are levied by the gateway, not by us.

Fees are non-refundable except as set out in our refund policy. If we change prices, the change applies from your next renewal, not mid-term.

Public listings

Publishing a property is your decision and puts its name, address, availability and headline rent in front of the public. Only publish what you are entitled to advertise, and keep it accurate — a listing showing units that are not actually available wastes people's time and is a misleading advertisement under consumer law.

We may remove a listing that appears unlawful, misleading or fraudulent. Where we do, we will tell you why.

Your data

The data you enter remains yours. We process it to run the service, as described in our privacy policy, and we do not sell it or use it to advertise to your residents.

You can export your records at any time while your subscription is active. If you leave, we keep your data for [post-termination retention, e.g. 60 days] so you can retrieve it, then delete it — except where law requires us to keep financial records longer.

Availability

We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where practical.

[availability commitment, or state that none is offered]

Limits of liability

To the extent Indian law permits, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

We are not liable for rent you fail to collect, tenancies that go wrong, disputes with residents or owners, or losses arising from data you entered incorrectly.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud.

Ending the agreement

You may cancel at any time; the subscription runs to the end of the term you paid for. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, is used unlawfully, or has unpaid fees — with notice, except where the breach requires immediate action.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at [city] have exclusive jurisdiction.
